Players do not have to be a member of the USTA or the RSPA to participate. Teams consist of a minimum of 6 players eligle to compete at the teams's level of play. Teams may have no more than 1 player rated 1.0 rating point or more below the teams level of play. An example of this rule: a 3.5 team cannot have MORE than (1) player rated 2.5 or below. a 3.5 team could have several 3.0 players since that is only .5 rating point below the 3.5 rated level of play. All teams must have at least (4) players with a valid rating or self-rating at the same level as the team's registered division of play. Players should play by their by their most recent published USTA rating. Any player who was DQ'd at any time after December 2024 ratings were published must play at the higher rating. If a player appealed his/her rating he/she must play by the appealed decision. If a player already has a self-rating from earlier leagues and no published rating then that self-rating must be used. Players with no rating may join any team they feel eligible for but will be subject to review and disqualification at any time by local RSPA pros committee. Ratings entered by players on ther EastTexasTennistopdoglive.com account are not always current since they are entered by the player at the time the account was created. TEAM REGISTRATION: EastTexasTennis.topdoglive.com will be used for all RSPA team registrations. All players should login to EastTexasTennis.topdoglive.com and create a free account. When you fill out your information PLEASE be sure to fill out all information requested so we can contact you with schedule changes and league updates. All players must pay the $25 player fee during registration with a credit or debit card. When registering, be sure to save your user ID and password. Duplicate accounts can cause problems with team scores so please be sure you only create one account. If you forget your password you can click the "email me my password" link. After you register, you will see your name on the team roster within a few hours. TO CAPTAIN A TEAM: Once you create your account - if you do not already have a team, click on "Create New Team" and follow the steps. If your home court facility is not found please email Matt at matthew.watson@mpgroupus.com and we will add your facility before you can complete the team registration process. The majority of East Texas clubs and schools should be listed in th database. Always try various spellings and words - i.e. The Cascades instead of Cascades - to find your club/home courts. Once you have created your team follow the steps below to "join" the team. Forming your team and selecting yourself as Captain does not register you to "play" on that team - it simply makes you the captain. If you are going to also play on the team you will need to "join the team" after creating it.. To Join a Team: Go to EastTexasTennis.topdoglive.com and create a free account or login if you have already have a profile registered. Click "email me my password" if have an account but have forgotten your login information. Do not create another account as it will affect the recorded scores and they will not be logged properly. Once you have created your account click on the "Sign Up" button next to the division you would like to enter and select your captain's name. Once you pay the $25 league fee you will be listed on the roster. Follow same steps if you would like to join another roster at a different level of play. Players may play on multiple teams but only ONE TEAM PER LEVEL. Refunds cannot be given for any reason but we can move players to a different roster if needed as long as it is before the final registration deadline. LEAGUE DETAILS: League play is two lines of doubles each week. Line #1 is worth 5 points and Line #2 is worth 3 points for the win > Captains must enter scores AND enter points won each week. DEFAULTS: If a line is defaulted without any games being played the defaulting line will be Line #1. If a team defaults both lines in a given match the team will receive -6 points for their score. Please try to notify opposing captains of any known defaults as early as possible as a courtesy to their players. If total points are tied then ties will be broken by the percentage columns from left to right on the standings board. Match starting times will be scheduled (by the home club) between 6:00pm and 8:30pm > Facilities with multiple teams may have 6pm and 8:30pm match start times. Facilites ARE NOT REQUIRED to provide warm up courts prior to match start time. Please do not hastle area club staff if warm up courts are not available. The length of each season will be based on the number of teams entered > some levels may be divided into two flights and some may have a playoff if necessary Teams can have matches scheduled on days other than their "normal day" - this is due to scheduling and court conflicts > not due to a team's choice. Players must play at least two regular season matches (and at least one playoff match if applicable) to advance to the State Championships. If a team is scheduled to play 9 or more regular season matches then player's must play at least (3) regular season matches + a playoff match if applicable to qualify. Defaults do not count as a match played. All matches will be 2 out of 3 sets with a match tiebreaker (1st team to 10 points win by 2) in lieu of the 3rd. Coman tiebreaker format will be used. Home team is responsible for providing new balls for each home match. Captains should enter the match results within 24 hours following the match. Please try to play rain make-ups ASAP. For larger schedules, mandatory rain make-up dates will be listed on the website. Teams are not permitted to reschedule matches for any reason other than inclement weather UNLESS both teams agree to reschedule and the match is played PRIOR to the scheduled date. The grievance committee will consist of (2) local RSPA pros. Please send emails to league coordinator at matthew.watson@mpgroupus.com. Winning teams will advance to the RSPA Adult Team Championships in Houston January 16-18.
